Web Report - Lock lane turned in a tremendous team performance against spirited opponents who never gave in throughout the match.  Lane ran in 8 first half tries to build an unassailable 38 point lead. Leon Ashworth scoring 4 tries to maintain his impressive start to the season. Sam Angell broke through the middle of the of the defence and raced 40 yards to score, Ryan Whitworth sneaked over from dummy half, Arran Blears showed great strength to take three defenders over the line with him and Kane Wilson scored after a 50 yard run. Joe Willock kicked 2 conversions.
The second half saw much of the same with 7 further scores, Blears scored his second try after great defence from Mitchell Platt, Lloyd Walker, Chris Baker and Zach Wilson forced the ball out of Hoylands grasp. Jack Middleton showed a nice touch to set Sam Wilkinson Pycock to score before lane switched off and allowed the gallant Hoyland team their only score of the match. Ryan Kear was next on the score sheet powering over from close range, Morgan Lewis bulldozed over next and Willock then finished off a neat team move to score. Daniel Jarratt then broke from his own half to score the final try on the final whistle. Willock added 3 conversions. Nathan Breslin and Tom Noble worked tirelessly throughout the game in the lane pack. Top tackler was Jarratt, most improved was Lewis and man of the match went to Reagan Clarke who organised and distributed the ball magnificently.

Blears collected his second try after great defence from Mitchell Platt, Lloyd Walker, Chris Baker and Zach Wilson forced the ball out of a Hoyland player's grasp. Jack Middleton cleverly set up Sam Willkinson Pycock's try and Ryan Kear powered over from close range. Morgan Lewis bulldozed his way over, Willock finished off a neat move to score and Daniel Jarratt broke from his own half to grab the final try, with Willock adding three conversions. Nathan Breslin and Tom Noble worked tirelessly throughout in the pack. Jarratt was top tackler, Lewis most improved and Reagan Clarke MOM, the latter distributing the ball magnificently.
