Away Match... Friendly Castleford Panthers 34 v Lock Lane 20 Newspaper Report - Lane competed well in a close-fought derby that was only decided in the final five minutes. Panthers took an early lead with a converted try but Lane responded with a well worked try by Arran Blears after a good build up involving Kane Wilson, Joe Willock and Leon Ashworth. Ryan Kear, Nathan Breslin and Sam Angell then paved the way for Willock to bag an excellent try. Panthers levelled the scores before half time but Lane upped the pace again in the second half and Danny Jarrett scored a great try following good work by Reagan Clarke, Sam Wilkinson Pycock and Tom Noble. Despite strong defensive work by Loakc Lane's Morgan Lewis, Jack Middleton, Lloyd Walker and Zach Wilson, Panthers then took control of the game by scoring three tries. Neat play by Mitchell Platt saw Blears score his second to cup the gap to eight points but Panthers had final say with a converted touchdown in the dying seconds. Jarrett was Lane's top tackler, Blears won the most improved player award and Kear was MOM. |
